E.care started in Switzerland

Monday, 10 October 2011 07:37

E.care recently began its first implementation in Switzerland. Inselspital in Bern will be using E.care ED for the support of its emergency department as of January 2012. The Paediatric Department will later be added as a second site.

What makes this project so special is the attention that is paid to fully documenting announced patients (pre-hospital) and especially the timely circulation of information to the departments where the patient will end up after or during a stay at the emergency department (e.g. X-ray, ICU, etc.). For the first time, the "Genfer Triage Model" will also be supported. This method, where the triage level is determined by a combination of the presentation profile and vital parameters, was developed at the University of Geneva and is used in several hospitals in Switzerland.

Monday, 29 November 2010 11:57

In the Asklepios Clinic of Hamburg Altona Dr. Hogan is at the head of one of Germany’s biggest Central Emergency Wards. The use of E.care ED is not a coincidence, but a part of a management strategy and leadership vision. Since May 2010 Dr. Hogan has used E.care ED to guide the patient through the care process more quickly and accurately. This benefits both the staff and the management, as well as the patients of Altona.
As president of DGINA and vice-president of EuSEM Dr. Hogan wrote down her view on this subject. A must-read! Download here.
